Our Story

How we began, why we think it's a great idea and where our name came from...

It all started back when Tim and Ryan decided to bite the bullet and buy a house. Easy, they thought - ring up a few estate agents, view a few houses... but if only. They quickly realised this wasn't going to be so easy, especially with busy full-time jobs.

Several months later, having spent every waking hour viewing unsuitable properties (cosy inevitably meant made for hobbits and conveniently located, in reality found the house with a 3 lane motorway on its doorstep) they finally found something suitable.

Great, they thought, the hard bit's over, but no... there was organising a solicitor, sorting out the mortgage, getting a surveyor round. They were quickly getting fed up with the whole never-ending process.

Finally they moved in and after a few weeks trying to find a suitable plumber to change the pink bathroom suite, Tim found an urgent payment reminder for the gas bill... Whoops! Forgot to ring up the gas board when they moved in.

'If only someone could have done all of this for us' said Ryan one day...

Oh, and our name, where did that come from? Well 'Find My Igloo' was Matt's idea after he came back from an expedition across Alaska. He spent some time up there with an Eskimo family in their igloo - very cosy he insisted, despite needing some modernisation.
